About UZH.ai

At UZH.ai, people and disciplines come first. With more than 7 faculties and experts in nearly every domain, the University of Zurich is the largest university in Switzerland — and uniquely positioned to explore how artificial intelligence can support and enhance research, education, and innovation across all areas of knowledge.

From medicine to law, linguistics to economics, and from natural sciences to the humanities — UZH’s strength is its diversity. What makes us unique is not AI itself, but the way our domain experts use it to ask better questions, gain deeper insights, and address the most pressing challenges of our time. UZH.ai connects these communities and makes the university the place to interact with this exciting technology responsibly and creatively.

AI is not the focus — people are. Our researchers, lecturers, students, and staff drive this initiative. UZH.ai exists to bring them together, to foster collaboration across faculties, and to open doors to industry, government, and society.

Our Story

UZH.ai was launched in 2025 by the Digital Strategy Board (DiSB) as part of the university’s commitment to shaping the digital future. The initiative coordinates and amplifies AI activities across UZH, ensuring that the university not only keeps pace with global developments, but leads responsibly with human-centered innovation.
